In today’s China, striving to become a better person is often a crime punishable by torture and death, as the 14-Year Persecution of Falun Gong by the Communist Party of China demonstrates. Since July 20, 1999, when the persecution of Falun Gong was instigated by Jiang Zemin.
China’s leader at the time, Falun Gong practitioners have constantly faced the prospect of being arrested, beaten, tortured, sent to labor camps or other facilities, or having their organs removed while still living to supply China’s illegal multi-billion dollar organ transplant industry.
All this for simply for practicing the universal principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Tolerance, and striving to be better people. But instead of becoming victims, Falun Gong practitioners have led an unyielding resistance against a corrupt political regime that believes by destroying human dignity and goodness, it can maintain total power and control over its citizens
Although the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has done all in its power to destroy Falun Gong these past 14 years, it has been to no avail. The high moral standards Falun Gong practitioners have developed following its principles and teachings have given them the strength to stand up to this unrelenting persecution with dignity and honor.
Falun Gong practitioners outside China honor their fellow practitioners inside China every July 20th, making people around the world aware of the CCP’s unrelenting persecution of Falun Gong.
Following are a few photos of practitioners’ activities around the world.
