From morning to night, every bus is “checked out” by this faithful dog looking for his owner. A special guest has come to the parking lot of Guangyan Monastery on Chongzhou Street, Zi Gu County of Sichuan Province—a brownish-yellow dog that has been there alone for 15 days as of Sept 9.

It lies quietly on the side of the parking lot every day. The only thing that evokes the dog’s alertness is the pulling in of buses. Yang, a bus conductor, said:

As soon as the bus pulls in, the dog will immediately get up and rush to the bus to sniff around. “At first, I thought it was looking for food. Later, I learned that it is looking for its owner.” No one knows whether it was lost or abandoned by its owner.

The dog appears at the station’s parking lot from 8 a.m. when Yang starts work until 6 p.m. when she gets off work. The small dog is there and gets on every bus to check it out and then gets off again to wait for his owner. Every day is the same.

Faithful dog named ‘Huanghuang’

The dog gradually became a friend of the parking lot staff, drivers and bus conductors. They named it Huanghuang—Yellow—as his hair color is yellow. Gou Huiqun, a parking lot staff member, said that the first thing he does when he arrives at the parking lot is look for Huanghuang, and then he feeds him.

Bus driver Fung wishes he could take Huanghuang home with him, but he is worried that the dog’s owner will come back and look for him. He said:

They all hope the dog will soon be able to reunite with its owner and return home. They call on his owner to take the dog back.
