On the evening of March 1, 8-10 violent attackers stabbed everyone in sight at the Kunming train station in Yunnan Province, China. Blood was everywhere. So far, 29 people have died, and 143 others were injured in the massacre. The number of victims continues to rise.
According to the Oriental Morning Post report, the attackers had foot-long knives and were dressed all in black. They stabbed everyone they ran into, from the ticket hall to the square. The trail of blood was 300 feet long.
Local authorities were notified by the central department that reports on the event should follow Xinhua’s reporting, skipping large titles and pictures. Tencent, Netease, and other news sites also stopped updating relevant information early the next morning.
After the incident, rumors spread that the assailants were still in the city ready to drop poison around the city and commit further terrorist attacks.
