Worst Sandstorm in 10 Years Hits China, Will It Also Reach the U.S.?

In some places in Northeast China today, it is nearly zero visibility due to a severe sandstorm that has turned day into night and is causing chaos for millions of people. The full extent of the damage is still unknown and over 100 fires have already been caused by the storm.

On March 9 this year a heavy sandstorm hit Beijing, and according to the Daily Mail, dust from the storm traveled along a fast moving jet stream over 6,000 miles to California causing unusually thick hazy skies from March 22.

Only time will tell the effect of today’s sandstorm on China and where its fallout is headed.
