These political cartoons from Free Weibo have been censored by authorities in mainland China. They show the last five leaders of the Chinese Communist Party: Xi Jinping, Hu Jintao, Jiang Zemin, Deng Xiaoping, and Mao Tsedong.

A netizen commenting on the images wrote, “In Mao’s time officials were poor; in Deng Xiaoping’s time officials were millionaires. In Jiang Zemin’s time officials embezzled most of the money from the state treasury, in Hu’s time official corruption became rife, now in Xi’s time officials are like frightened birds, and any noise will scare them to death.”
