Vanity Fair selected Peng Liyuan, the wife of China’s current president Xi Jinping, as one of the world’s best dressed people of 2013. The magazine selects fashionable celebrities for its yearly “International Best-Dressed List.”

According to the South China Morning Post, 70 years earlier, the Republic of China’s perennially classy First Lady was selected for a similar list. Soong May-ling, popularly known as Madame Chiang, was selected as one of the “Best-Dressed Women in Wartime.”
