A young dog in Heilongjiang Province has picked up smoking from her owner, a smoker surnamed Liu.

Meiya the 2-year-old husky has lived with Liu in Anda since he adopted her last year, 163.com reported.

Liu tends to smoke a brand of cigarette named Yuxi, which Meiya also prefers. Her habit has gotten so bad that now she has to have a smoke before she goes to sleep at night.

Although he smokes himself, Liu plans to get Meiya to quit as soon as possible so it doesn’t affect her health. This may become quite a challenge. Anyone who has a dog knows how difficult it can be to teach a dog simple tricks. How would you go about training a Husky to quit its addiction? An addiction which, most people will agree, no animal should have in the first place.

Netizens commented about their own dogs’ odd behavior on Tencent. One wrote: “I had a dog before, and he loved alcohol. One day he got drunk, chased pigeons, and fell off the 7th floor. Fortunately, he only hurt his leg.”

Another said: “My husky loves playing mahjong. Every day when I walk her, she only ‘agrees’ to go back home if she can visit the mahjong room, and watch people play for a while. There are many strange dogs around the world.”
