Chinese Company’s Solar Panels Installed at World Cup Stadium

Yinglee Solar, one of the biggest solar panel companies in the world, became the first Chinese and first renewable energy sponsor for the World Cup in 2010.

During this year’s World Cup, the company’s solar panels have been installed in the Maracana stadium in Rio de Janeiro.

The solar panels cover 2,500 square meters on the stadium’s terraces and can supply up to 3% of the stadium’s power requirements.
