Around 77 percent of the marine turtles monitored in Mozambique nest in this Marine Reserve—the Ponta do Ouro Partial Marine Reserve—the most important leatherback and loggerhead turtle nesting ground along the Mozambican coast.

What makes the Marine Reserve’s turtle monitoring program all the more exciting, is that it links up with the turtle monitoring program of iSimangaliso Wetland Park, a World Heritage Site, that is now in its 43rd season.
 Good news for the turtles!
