A young television presenter fell to her death, after being stabbed by robbers, who got angry when they found she only had 5 yuan (about 80 cents) in her purse.

Chen Xia, 26, was well-known for hosting a weekly show called Home in the Countryside, according to Tencent News.

She was walking home across a bridge in Chongqing, when two men with knives told her to hand over all her cash. When they saw she had hardly any money, they stabbed her multiple times, and threw her off the bridge.

Police got to the scene soon after, and managed to catch the thieves, but Chen was confirmed dead when the ambulance arrived.
