At least six students died during a stampede at an elementary school in Yunnan Province on Sept. 26.

The incident happened at Mingtong Primary School in Kunming, injuring 28 other children, two of whom are in a serious condition.

Several children reportedly punched two 10-feet-tall mattresses which landed on top of some other children. This triggered the stampede down a stairway, where some of the pupils fell, and were trampled.
