U.S. Citizens Join Kurdish Forces to Fight Islamic State (Video)

Two U.S. citizens have joined Kurdish forces fighting against the Islamic State in north-west Syria.

Forty-three year old Brian Wilson from Ohio (featured in the CNN video above) and 28-year-old Jordan Matson from Wisconsin (pictured below) have both volunteered to fight with the Kurds who are defending their homes against the Islamic extremists.

“I couldn’t just sit and watch Christians being slaughtered anymore,” Mr Matson said in an interview with USA TODAY.

“I got sick of giving online sympathy. Five minutes of lip service does nothing. These people are fighting for their homes, for everything they have.”

Mr. Wilson was with the U.S. Air Force and served in Operation Desert Storm (the first Gulf War) according to a report earlier this week by NBC.
