5-Year-Old Pro Basketball Player Dunks in 1st Game

The Utah Jazz signed 5-year-old JP Gibson to a one-day contract. In his first and only game of the season, the rising star took it above the rim.

After losing the defender off a pick and roll, Gibson went for the basket. And with the help of 7’1″ Jazz center Rudy Gobert, he slammed it down.

JP Gibson suffers from acute lymphoblastic leukemia, but he loves basketball and has been shooting baskets since he was 15 months old. The Utah Jazz gave him the chance to live his dreams in a televised team scrimmage game.

He looked very sure of himself on the court, and played with tenacity. I wonder if the Utah Jazz coaching staff will petition to get his one-day contract extended.

I’m sure the NBA was impressed by their future star. If he sticks with it, he’ll lead the Jazz to an NBA title in no time.
