Former Foreign Minister Tang Jiaxuan, who served from 1998 to 2003, recently said that China has the best human rights record in the world.

His words shocked a lot of commentators. Here’s one of the replies about the Chinese government which got circulated with this photo and then censored on Sina Weibo.

“All those years of Chinese people’s pain and suffering are summarized with this logic: They conquered this land using force and these are the products of their victory. The Chinese people are just like prisoners to them.

If they want to kill you, it’s as easy as slaughtering a pig.

“If they want anything, it’s like taking it from their own house, just like daylight robbery. Not being killed is the greatest human right. Not being hungry is the greatest happiness.”
