Magnitude 7.4 Quake Strikes West Coast of Central America (Video)

A major quake offshore of El Salvador was felt in other parts of Central America late on Oct. 13, and killed at least one person.

It hit at about 40 miles off the coast near Jiquilillo at a depth of 25 miles, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

A man reportedly died after an electricity pole fell on him. There was no associated tsunami.
