A True Artist Can Transform Personal Devastation Into Awesome Beauty

Through bankruptcy, family tragedy, and personal struggle, Rembrandt Harmenszoon van Rijn brought forth some of his greatest paintings.

An artist has to go through some struggles in life, just like many people do. But to still have the energy and passion for creation is remarkable. Rembrandt shows that even in his last days, having lost all the comforts of life he can still channel his energy into amazing works, works that can provide inspiration for generations.

If only I could head to England and savor these great uses of color and shadow in person. This is the first time some of these paintings are making it to England.
