You think breeding pandas in captivity is challenging? Well, teaching them to live in the wild is even harder!
This video shows how a nature reserve in China helps baby pandas to learn about their environment, so that one day they can live independently.
And there’s a special dress code for staff, although it might not be as fun as you think.
So as not to disturb the bears, the workers pretend to be pandas too.
They have to wear special panda suits, and smear them with urine and feces to make them look and smell like pandas… nice!
It’s hard work, but everyone feels rewarded when they see a young female take her first step into the wild.
