A knife-wielding man in China thought he could get 10,000 yuan (about $1,629) out of his bank account even though there was only 1 yuan in it.

The incident happened in Heyuan, Guangdong. The knifeman was wearing slippers and rushed to the bank counter, shouting: “Stick up!”

Surprisingly, the other customers just looked at him, and a bank staffer simply shouted: “Join the line”, according to Sina News.

Eventually he realized a kitchen knife wasn’t convincing enough to rob a bank.

He left a few minutes later and was caught by police.
