The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show was a big hit this last Tuesday, and as usual, the super slim models got the attention of many who wonder about the dietary and workout habits of the “Angels.”
Adriana Lima’s pre-show diets, workout plans, and diets have been circulating on the Internet recently.
The strict pre-show regime include things like:
- Prepares 2 months ahead (to have a smooth transition)
- Cuts down on alcohol
- 2 weeks before the show, cuts salty foods
- 9 days before the show, will drink only protein shakes
- 2 days before the show, will abstain from usual gallon of water a day and “just drink normally”
- 12 hours before the show, will stop drinking entirely… “No liquids at all so you dry out; sometimes you can lose up to 8 pounds just from that,” she says…
According to DailyHitt: “Her nutritionist prescribes protein shakes, vitamins, and supplements to keep Lima’s energy levels up during this training period.”
However, after her initial comments caused a commotion, she emphasized to E!—the diet is not something she does for long.
“I know it’s very intense, but… I just have an athlete’s mind and I appreciate doing this thing,” she said. “It’s not that I do crazy diets throughout the year. I just do it for this particular thing. After this show, I become normal again.”
One point Adriana emphasized is:
Those teenagers out there, don’t go starving yourself or only drinking liquids. Don’t do that please,
she told E! Canada Thursday.
As for her workout routine, she mentioned to E!: “This year, even though my diet was intense, I took it a little bit easier on the working out so I won’t be as muscular.”
