Although authorities chose to clear the site a day after Human Rights Day, the strong spirit of Hong Kongers can never be removed. All the police have taken away from the protesters is the roads.

Hong Kong actor Anthony Wong posted this comment on his Facebook, titled “the last night,” praising the students’ courage over the past 11 weeks.

“Whether you support or oppose, praise or hate, are for or against violence, yell or ridicule, were arrested or arrested others, shed blood or shed others’ blood; no matter how ignorant you are of numbers and history, 75 days is definitely a world record.”

Anthony believes the protesters’ organizational skills, creative ability, passion, calm, and fearlessness when facing the evil are definitely not what anyone can have.

Although all good things must come to an end, he believes all theumbrellas and tents raised a great dream that is blossoming everywhere.

He thinks the last night was like a carnival, seeing the students’ determined eyes, smiles, and their Lennon Wall.

“Like what they said, we’ll be back not through struggling, but by being thousands of social elites. (This is what ‘I have a dream’ really means of course, not that those idiots understand.)”
