Due to Internet censorship, a 73-year-old man living in mainland China only heard of the Umbrella Movement recently.

Not until he got past the state firewall’s restrictions on the Internet did he learn that Occupy Central had been happening in his hometown, Hong Kong, for over 70 days, and the site was about to get cleared by police.

He rushed to fly back from Shunde in Guangdong Province, and sat in the front line among the students, In-media reported via on Facebook on Dec. 11.

Feeling touched by the other protesters’ spirit, he said he wasn’t afraid of being arrested.

He believes he’ll have no regret or guilt on behalf of future generations because he fought for their cause.
