So science has proven why people are such bad artists and why art is initially hard to do. It basically comes down to the face.
If only I had known this back then. I would have focused on improving just these skills. I could have been the comic book artist I wanted to be as a kid.
There are two reasons why faces are hard to draw for the novice artist.
1. We place too much importance on the eyes. And draw them towards the top of the head, instead of in the middle where they belong.
2. We can’t draw round things. We square them off too much. But heads are round.
How am I supposed to become an artist with these great challenges to “face?”
