A confession is often seen as the greatest piece of evidence a prosecutor can bring to trial. Though growing research is outlining that innocent people also confess to crimes in large numbers.

The danger is that juries and people who have never been questioned or threatened  by police find it hard to believe that an innocent person would confess to a crime.
