Chinese people, especially the younger generation, are also very passionate about making things cute in real life. For example, they’d prefer to buy cats ear headphones rather than the regular ones.
So the idea of a Disney firefighting squadron in Shanghai isn’t such a surprise. With Shanghai Disney, a new theme park, set to open later this year, local firemen will be getting into the spirit of things too.
Due to the overall lack of staff in the area, Shanghai Firefighting Bureau is going to add seven new squadrons in 2015. They will be established in the suburbs, covering the areas of Disney, Xinbin, and Chedun.
The Disney squadron will be the largest one, with 11 fire trucks and 80 firefighters.
The Chief Engineer of the Shanghai Firefighting Bureau said: “Their appearance will draw on the experience of foreign countries, so as to match the overall style of Disney. It’s expected to become ‘the most beautiful fire squadron,'” according to qq news.
Bloggers thought this was great news, and many were curious to ask the firemen if they would dress up on the job.
Imagine Donald Duck driving a fire truck, while Goofy sounds the alarm, and Mickey drags the hose.
Another Weibo user asked if children can set something on fire to watch the team take action!?
