What Has Science Found Out About Meditation?

Meditation has been around for thousands of years Now scientists are looking to see what physiological effects it really has on practitioners.

With our ever-increasing busy lives, more and more people are asking: “What is the science behind meditation?”

The physical act of meditation generally consists of simply sitting quietly, focusing on one’s breath, a word, or phrase. A mediator may also be walking or standing. It isn’t unusual, in fact, to see a meditating monk  walking a few steps and then lying down over and over again until he reaches his destination.

In this three minute video, AsapSCIENCE goes over the current scientific findings.

It turns out that meditation is good for just about everything.
