BAH KWA, a Type of Dry Meat You Will Love

Bah kwa or rougan is a Chinese salty-sweet dried meat product similar to jerky. It is original of the Fujian province in China.

Bah kwa is now very popular in Singapore and Malaysia since Chinese immigrants introduced it to the area, where it is usually eaten during Chinese New Year.

Chinese new year festivities are full of joy, happiness and food. Among the dishes that cannot be missed, is, as you may imagine by now, Bah kwa. It is said to be the goodie everyone expects to eat during the Chinese new year.

People buy kilos of this delicacy to give away to family and friends. No wonder why the prices of this treat sky rocket during the weeks before the Chinese new year.
