The most unlikely comic book pairing I have ever heard of will invade shops in the very near future.
Archie, the king of children’s comics, now facing a very adult enemy.
Archie is the coolest comic book teen ever. He’s pretty much a comic book Saved By the Bell. He attends Riverdale High School. He’s got his best friend, Jughead, who lives for hamburgers. He’s got a rival for the ladies, Reggie. He’s got love interests, Betty, Veronica, and Cheryl Blossom. And it has, for the most part, been a fun-loving affair.
But recently, Archie Comics have gone from the cleanest kiddie comic in America, to putting out comics that deal with serious issues, to eventually creating horror comics. All that while they still publish stuff for younger readers. And now, fighting Predators completes Archie’s transformation into a more adult comic company.

Predators. The meanest, ugliest aliens to appear in a comic book or movie, will soon fight against Archie and his friends when they take a vacation to Costa Rica. Besides officially ripping apart the world of Archie that I grew up with as a child, what else will the alien hunters be ripping up within these comic book pages?
If this ends up how it did for a well-muscled Arnold Schwarzenegger back in 1987 during the original Predator movie, than it will come down to one last man and woman, and my bets go with Archie and Betty.
Archie has never been about this. What’s wrong with you guys? Who has been spiking the morning coffee? Now that Archie has gotten all scary on us, will it influence all of the younger readers? I would take it as a joke.
But it’s no joke. The first issue in the series is scheduled to be released on April 15, courtesy of Dark Horse Comics.
