Roman UrsuHack shared on YouTube how to cut a glass bottle using oil and water. It sounds too good to be true, doesn’t it? But if you watch his video below, you will see how simple it is.
There are several steps to carry out this project:
- Put water into the glass bottle to the level where you want it to be cut, then place the bottle in a metal basin.
- Put water into the basin up to the level of the water inside the bottle.
- Pour oil into the basin, until the surface of water is covered by oil.
- Burn a blade until it turns red, then put it into the basin, with a slight sound the bottle is cut successfully!
The reason behind this is simple — the high temperature is transmitted quickly from the blade to the oil on the surface of the water. While the oil is hot and water is cold, the glass expands on the outside and shrinks in the inside, so it is separated naturally. The edge looks smooth too!
