Stevie Wonder Pays Tribute to Prince With Unique Rendition of ‘Purple Rain’

Stevie Wonder joined CBS This Morning to celebrate the life of his friend Prince, who died at the age of 57 last month. His death shocked the public, along with his friends in the music community. The cause of death is still unknown. Even a giant like Stevie Wonder struggles to sing Prince’s classic, demonstrating just how unique that song is to Prince.

Stevie Wonder plays a harpejji, a unique instrument that comes from the electric guitar, but is modified to be played as a tapping instrument. He uses the instrument to perform one of Prince’s greatest songs, “Purple Rain.”
