Bean curd (tofu) is very healthy, as it is naturally gluten-free, low in calories, has no cholesterol, and is an excellent source of protein, iron, and calcium. It is also good on your wallet as it is so inexpensive. A pound of tofu costs around $3.
whereas boneless chicken breast is around $3.50 per pound, bacon is around $5.70 per pound, pork chops are around $4.00 per pound, beef steaks are around $7.00 per pound, and lean ground beef is around $5.50 per pound. Tofu is also suitable for the elderly and young children to eat, as it is soft and easy to chew, unlike some meats.

Fry the bean curd until both sides become golden yellow. Use chopsticks to prevent them from sticking together. The crust will be crispy, and the inside is soft. It is tasty even if it’s only flavored with salt and pepper. (Image: NTDTV)
Fry the green onions, then add the bean curd, soya sauce, black bean sauce, and pepper. Stir continuously so the bean curd will be evenly flavored. (Image: NTDTV)
Mix the wheat starch with water, and add the water into the pot to make the dish sticky. You may take the bean curd out first so that the crust remains crispy. (Image: NTDTV)
