Being a tropical plant, the sweet potato is found in most places in Latin America. The Incans called the sweet potato batata, and that is the origin of the word potato. Here are some variations on how to make sweet potato toast. An easy and delicious snack with extra nutrition from replacing normal bread with the sweet potato.
1. Slice your sweet potato into toast size slices; next toast it in the toaster.
2. Once the spud is toasted; apply your toppings.
3. You are free to top it with the ingredients of your choice.
One idea I enjoy is to rub garlic on the surface of the spud. Next, spread hummus with a dash of olive oil on top, add slices of avocado, tomato, pitted olives, cucumber, parsley, and drizzle it with feta cheese, a slice of lime squeezed, some salt and black pepper and almost done!
Also, you can get creative with your favorite combination of flavors. That requires a particular degree of “alchemy”-mixing elements!
