‘The Eternal River,’ the River Li, Guangxi’s Emerald Jewel

Please, don’t show me Beijing or Shanghai. When I dream of China, I dream of this place. Past life memories, stirring up like a romantic film play in my mind. Guangxi Province.

Boating down the River Li, between high karst mountains, forests, passing old fishermen with their bamboo rafts and fish catching birds, deep golden sunsets, and gentle tea drinking breezes. Take me there. Let me be part of that peaceful painting come to life, let me become a character in an ancient poem where reflection is as much an act of contemplation as it is water’s subtlest charm.

If you’re thinking of traveling China, let this two minute video: The Eternal River, by Jungles in Paris on Vimeo, help you set your travel plans.
