TV on the Radio New Single ‘Happy Idiot’ Shows a Happier, Wiser Band

TV on the Radio are back with a video for “Happy Idiot.” It’s the first single off their upcoming Album Seeds.

It’s been 3 years since their last album, Nine Types of Light. Right after Nine Types of Light was released, Bassist Gerard Smith died of lung cancer. This is the first album without Smith since 2004’s Desperate Youth, Blood Thirsty Babes, though the band has released a couple of singles in the interim.

I’m really enjoying the band evolve, and hearing how their sound continues to improve with each album. Many of the songs off Nine Types of Light sound incredibly polished. “Happy Idiot” polishes it even more.

If this first single is any indication, we’re in for an album by a band who’ve grown happier and wiser with time.
