This Brooklyn Artist Channels Faraway Nature with Every Stroke of the Brush

Zaria Forman excels in drawing water and ice, lakes and glaciers. Her drawings of remote landscapes are so real as to be surreal.

Forman got her inspiration as a child, while travelling with family to remote regions of the world. Her mother was a fine art nature photographer, taking photos of some of the most beautiful places on the planet. Forman’s art recalls some of those same locations.

Her art was used as set design in the popular ballet Giselle, and in the television show House of Cards. In the video she explains how she works and what inspires her.
