A box office hit in Taiwan, US-based Shen Yun Performing Arts will be on its ninth tour to Taiwan from March 4 to April 12, 2015. According to Shen Yun‘s organizer, Shen Yun fans started booking 2015 tickets half a year prior for fear of missing out. For instance, over a quarter of all the 2015 tickets were sold half a year before the show in Kaohsiung, a city in southern Taiwan. The buzz in southern Taiwan is tremendous.
The Shen Yun Performing Arts International Company presented 37 performances to full houses in seven major Taiwanese cities from Feb. 21 to Mar. 24, 2014. After the sellout tour of Taiwan, Shen Yun was again acknowledged as an artistic phenomenon in Taiwan arts circles.
Shen Yun takes in huge ticket sales and performs in sold out theaters across Taiwan.
Tickets to each of the 2014 performances sold out beforehand. Audiences, particularly Shen Yun fans from Mainland China and Chinese backpackers, were desperate for Shen Yun tickets. You could catch sight of many people from Mainland China in Taiwan’s theaters.
“More and more [Mainland] Chinese are anxious to see Shen Yun abroad!” said Ms. Li from the north of China. “The performances in [Mainland] China are used for propaganda purposes, unlike Shen Yun, which aims to promote traditional culture. Therefore, performers in [Mainland] China feel envious of Shen Yun,” said Mr. Chen from China.

Business leaders across the Taiwan Strait marveled at the display of 5,000 years Chinese civilization, as well as divinely imparted culture and classical legends presented in Shen Yun. Shen Yun is widely acknowledged as “a messenger sent by God” to represent Chinese people.
A Taiwanese National Policy Adviser, who is also president of Timing Pharmaceutical Group Co., LTD, said: “Each program is very creative, with costumes, backdrops, and orchestral performance of the highest level.” He also recommended: “This group encompasses Chinese people, displaying features of China and each historical dynasty, making a name for itself worldwide.”
Deeply touched by the Shen Yun show, Mr. Robin Hsu, president of Jack Wolfskin, an outdoor wear and equipment manufacturer and retailer, wrote a poem to praise Shen Yun:

Divine dances glorify the Chinese
Genuine and solid skills
earn praise worldwide”
