On Nov. 1, the Global Service Center for Quitting the CCP announced that, as of Oct.16, 2025, its website had received 82 statements from Chinese citizens declaring the “Three Withdrawals”—renouncing the CCP, the Communist Youth League, and the Young Pioneers—on behalf of the late actor Yu Menglong.
According to the Center, this outpouring of declarations represented “an act of spiritual courage that transcends life and death.” Initially, however, the statements were not processed because they did not meet registration criteria.
The Center explained that for a posthumous withdrawal to be accepted, one of the following conditions must be met:
- The declaration must be submitted by the deceased’s family or with their explicit consent; or
- It may be submitted by someone who personally knew the deceased, if the decision was clearly communicated through a dream or spiritual experience.
The organization said Yu Menglong’s untimely death and the unanswered questions surrounding it had “awakened a moral reckoning” among millions of Chinese people, many of whom wished to act on his behalf.
Netizens left deeply moving notes alongside their submissions:

“He was kind and pure, yet destroyed by those in power. I’m withdrawing him from the evil Party so his spirit can be free.”
“He came to me in a dream and said he wanted freedom. I’m making this declaration for him so that his soul may find peace.”
“An angel fell victim to darkness to awaken others through his sacrifice. The evil regime will not endure.”
Others described seeing Yu in dreams or meditation—“a young man whispering softly, ‘Then let’s withdraw.’”
These accounts, the Center said, reflect a profound yearning for justice and redemption in a society long suppressed by fear and propaganda.
A symbol of awakening
The Center explained that it made this rare decision for several reasons:
- The CCP’s ongoing censorship and persecution of dissent;
- The political sensitivity of Yu Menglong’s death, which places his loved ones at risk;
- The global expressions of grief and respect for him; and
- The broader awakening of his story has sparked among Chinese people.
“Yu Menglong’s tragedy has awakened countless souls to the CCP’s true nature,” the statement read.
“His posthumous withdrawal is both a moral act and a declaration of freedom.”
The Center added: “May Yu Menglong’s spirit be released from the grip of the CCP’s dark power.
His suffering was a testament to tyranny’s cruelty, and his death has become a beacon of awakening.”
An exceptional registration
Given these extraordinary circumstances, the Center made an exceptional ruling to officially register Yu Menglong’s withdrawal from all CCP-affiliated organizations.
“This act is not merely symbolic,” the announcement said.
“It represents both the redemption of an unjustly persecuted soul and the awakening of countless Chinese people who still seek truth and light.”

The Center’s statement concluded: “Each declaration of withdrawal is a rejection of evil, a return to one’s moral conscience, and an affirmation of human dignity. May Yu Menglong rest in peace, free from the shadows of tyranny. And may all kind-hearted souls dwell forever in the light.”
