When Wendy Javier speaks about the inspiration behind her nonprofit, Infinite Heart Initiative, her voice carries both strength and tenderness—the unmistakable tone of a mother fighting for her child and her community.
“So the inspiration behind Infinite was my son, Ethan, and inclusion,” she shared. “Because we need to have inclusion, and the majority of people are not educated about inclusion, right? So that was the inspiration, and that’s our mission: to feel seen, heard, included, and to be happy and joyful with what we can do with our community.”
Born from the challenges and triumphs of raising a neurodiverse child, Infinite Heart Initiative is Wendy’s response to a world that often misunderstands or overlooks people like her son. “When we go out into the community, we’re not always seen the right way… Being in a place where it’s inclusive… it’s normal here. It’s not when we go out there in the world, right? Not everybody can understand it. So here, it’s inclusive, it’s easy, it’s relaxing, and everybody is welcome. No judgment.”
Creating belonging—One inclusive space at a time
Wendy’s work is deeply practical. One of the first services she launched was a partnership with medical bracelet company Mirpre. “What this bracelet does is it has all the information of the child with their own QR code,” she explained. For children who may elope, are nonverbal, or need urgent medical care, the bracelet can be lifesaving. “They can locate the parent immediately… what his allergies are, what his condition is, if he’s nonverbal.”
The nonprofit also offers GPS locator bracelets, sunflower lanyards for disability identification, and ongoing emergency-preparedness support. But Wendy’s mission extends far beyond safety. Programs like Empower Through Experience teach job and life skills, while Soulful Sips gatherings, yoga, hammock healing, art classes, and free monthly movie nights provide both fun and personal growth. “It’s kind of like a little hub,” Wendy says. “They can come and do activities and have some fun… We have a lot that we’re doing for them, and we just started.”

Support for every heart in the family
As a strong single mom of two—including one child with profound autism and epilepsy—Wendy deeply understands the emotional weight families carry. She ensures siblings and parents are included too. “My other son that is not autistic has got to carry a lot of that burden. It’s hard. So we also host classes for siblings… and also for the parents. I have a 3am chat… and if somebody’s awake, somebody will share what they’re going through, and everybody just holds space for them.”
A heart-led mission
Wendy never measures herself against other programs. “There’s a lot of great programs out there. I think the difference for me… is that I work from the heart. I will give you 1,000 percent. And until I achieve that, I don’t stop.”
A moment that touched her deeply happened after her birthday when a visiting group left cards and gifts. “I just cried… I felt full. Sometimes we doubt the work we’re doing, but when we see other people receive it, it’s a beautiful thing.”
How to get involved
Infinite Heart Initiative welcomes everyone—through monetary gifts, in-kind donations, volunteer help, or simply showing up.
“It’s not always about money,” Wendy stressed. “It’s about collaboration… If I support you and you support me, we grow together. Anything helps—a basket, art supplies, or ‘Hey, can I give you a hand at the next party?’”
Events are open to the public, and new faces are always celebrated. Those interested in volunteering, donating, or attending an upcoming event can contact Wendy directly by email at [email protected] or visit www.ichoosemetoo.com. Programs and activities take place at Autismo Café, 690 NY-211, Middletown, NY 10940.
As Wendy says, “We’re here to provide our community happiness and joy… a place where every heart finds its place.”
Infinite love, infinite potential
For Wendy, Infinite Heart Initiative is more than a nonprofit—it’s a community born from a mother’s love and fueled by compassion. “Infinite love. Infinite potential,” she says. Her vision is a world where every heart finds its rhythm, where differences are celebrated, and everyone—especially neurodiverse individuals—has a place to belong. In just months, Wendy’s tireless work shows that when one mother chooses love, an entire community can choose inclusion.
