As Shen Yun Performing Arts kicks off its 20th anniversary season, the world renowned classical Chinese dance and music company will return this spring to one of the world’s most prestigious cultural venues — New York City’s Lincoln Center — with 18 performances scheduled from March 25 through April 12.
In recognition of the company’s two decades of artistic achievement and cultural revival, Middletown, New York Mayor Joseph DeStefano issued a formal proclamation honoring Shen Yun’s contributions to the performing arts and promotion of traditional culture and values.
Mayor DeStefano personally presented the commendation on Feb. 6, congratulating Shen Yun on its 20-year anniversary and welcoming the company’s return to Lincoln Center. He also extended Chinese New Year greetings to the artists. In the signed proclamation, the mayor highlighted Shen Yun’s cultural significance, artistic excellence, and global impact.

“Whereas, we celebrate with great joy and anticipation the return of the world-renowned classical Chinese dance and music arts company — Shen Yun Performing Arts — to New York City from March 25 through April 12, 2026;
Whereas, Shen Yun Performing Arts was founded in New York in 2006, and its breathtaking performances have captivated audiences worldwide, attracting millions through the profound depth and richness of traditional Chinese culture;
Whereas, the 2026 season marks the important milestone of Shen Yun Performing Arts’ 20th anniversary, celebrating two decades of artistic excellence, cultural revival, and unforgettable performances that continue to inspire audiences across the globe;
Whereas, this year’s performances will feature all-new productions, including original choreography, dazzling costumes, and live symphonic music, continuing Shen Yun’s tradition of bringing innovation and artistic vitality to the stage each season;
Whereas, Shen Yun’s performances journey through China’s vast history — from the elegant grace of Tang Dynasty court ladies to the heroic spirit of ancient generals — serving as a beacon of artistic excellence and cultural heritage;
Whereas, the dedication and extraordinary artistry of Shen Yun’s performers vividly bring to life the profound wisdom and spiritual depth embedded in Chinese culture, while inspiring audiences through stories of courage and resilience in the face of adversity;
Whereas, Shen Yun Performing Arts is committed to reviving and promoting authentic Chinese culture rooted in virtue, faith, and moral values, demonstrating the enduring power of artistic expression and cultural preservation;
Therefore, I, Joseph M. DeStefano, Mayor of the City of Middletown, New York, do hereby recognize and commend Shen Yun Performing Arts on its 20th anniversary, and for its outstanding contributions to the performing arts.”
At the conclusion of the proclamation, Mayor DeStefano called on residents to welcome Shen Yun back to Lincoln Center’s David H. Koch Theater:
“I also call upon all citizens to join me in welcoming Shen Yun Performing Arts back to the David H. Koch Theater at Lincoln Center, and to take this opportunity to personally experience the beauty, elegance, and profound cultural heritage that Shen Yun brings to our community.”

Shen Yun’s upcoming Lincoln Center engagement is positioned as a major highlight of its anniversary season, bringing audiences a new program of classical Chinese dance, orchestral music, and storytelling rooted in China’s traditional civilization.
