On Sunday, Oct,. 26 in front of a Flushing Library, NYC mayoral candidate, Curtis Sliwa rallied with several members of the city’s Asian community ahead of the general election slated for Nov. 4.

“The Asian community should never have to surrender to the Democrats again. Now you have a viable two-party system in which Asian candidates, Chinese and Korean, are running for positions that have been dominated by the Democrats,” Sliwa told the crowd of supporters.

He said that he and his team will be “coming to a neighbourhood near you” no matter which borough and that they are going to “criss-cross every neighbourhood between now and Nov. 4.”

He said that he was going to go “where the other candidates don’t go. You don’t see Zohran Mamdani and Andrew Cuomo walking the streets of Main Street or riding the subways. That’s what our campaign is about. Not the billionaires. Not the influencers. Not the insiders. The working-class people. The immigrant people who make this city strong.”

Sliwa promised, “I am your candidate and I will have your interests first at heart. Not the billionaires, the working-class people.”

‘We need somebody who will really help’

Sliwa handed off the microphone to a supporter who told the crowd, “We need somebody who will really help and [is] willing to sacrifice. We don’t want some professional politician who just wants to get money or be corrupt. No, we don’t want it.  And we don’t want somebody like Cuomo… who has done something really bad for New York City.  We want somebody, honest, dedicated, hardworking, down to Earth,  Curtis Sliwa!”

Another supporter, Bernie, told the crowd that when his community really needed help, Sliwa showed up.

“When we were fighting against the homeless shelter. He showed up. When we were fighting against the homeless shelter on 86th Street, he showed up. He’s the only candidate, only mayoral candidate, who showed up for our Chinese community,” Bernie said.

“It is very important that we come out and support him back. So, it is time that we Chinese people come out and vote. Vote for yourself, vote for your values, vote for Curtis Sliwa for mayor,” he added.
