The U.S. Department of Defense on Friday, July 10 released another 40 newly declassified files related to unidentified flying objects (UFOs), including 14 documents, 19 videos, four audio recordings, and three images. The materials were compiled from the Pentagon, NASA, the CIA, the FBI, and the Department of Energy.

The files were declassified under an executive order signed by U.S. President Donald Trump earlier this year and represent the latest batch of publicly released UFO records.

Mysterious object entered nuclear weapons facility

One of the most notable documents is a Department of Energy report detailing an incident that occurred in September 2015.

According to the report, an unidentified flying object entered the airspace above the Pantex nuclear weapons plant near Amarillo, Texas. The facility was immediately placed on lockdown, and two security officers pursued the object in a vehicle.

The officers said they were unable to catch up with it. After stopping to observe, they reported that the object made no sound, and binoculars revealed no visible propulsion system. It hovered for approximately one to two minutes before flying north and disappearing.

Veteran pilot says object was unlike anything seen in 28 years

Another report, dating from 2019, describes an encounter witnessed by a military pilot with 28 years of service in both the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Navy.

The pilot said he observed a high-speed object whose flight characteristics were unlike anything he had encountered during his career.

According to the report, the object passed beneath his aircraft at high speed while traveling in the opposite direction. He tracked it for 10 to 15 seconds before beginning to record video. However, once he zoomed in, the object quickly disappeared from view, and he was unable to relocate it even after zooming back out.

After reviewing the footage, investigators determined that the object appeared rectangular in shape. Other experienced pilots who viewed the recording were also unable to identify it.

New footage released from the Yellow Sea and East China Sea

The most recent incidents in the newly released files occurred in 2025 and were documented by the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command.

One video shows U.S. military sensors tracking an unusual object over the Yellow Sea that appeared to have a six-pointed star or hexagonal shape. Another records an unidentified object flying over the East China Sea for several minutes.

The release also includes multiple infrared videos captured by the military showing unidentified aerial objects over the western Pacific, the Atlantic Ocean, and the Middle East.

Newly released 1949 meeting records reveal early UFO investigation

The files also include, for the first time, records from a 1949 meeting held at Los Alamos.

Several leading scientists who had participated in the Manhattan Project discussed the recurring appearance of mysterious “green fireballs” over nuclear research facilities. Despite extensive discussion, they were unable to determine their origin.

Although some suggested the objects might have been meteors, a prominent astronomer argued that the phenomenon differed significantly from known meteor activity, stating that nothing comparable had ever been observed.

Pentagon says more UFO files will be released

The Pentagon emphasized that this is not the final release.

Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell said the Department of Defense and other agencies are continuing to organize additional files related to unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAPs), and more records will be released to the public in the future.
