In New Jersey’s vibrant tapestry, where dreams meet determination, Gianella Crockford has woven a story of hope and service. As the founder of Crockford Proassist Group LLC, she offers certified translations in Spanish, English, and Portuguese; document preparation; immigration consulting; New Jersey incorporations; and bookkeeping with insurance audits. But her work transcends business—it’s a heartfelt mission rooted in her immigration journey from Peru to the United States. In an inspiring interview, Gianella shared how her path fuels her drive to ease the everyday tasks of others, uplifting the Latino community and beyond. Her story, featured in The Feathered Story, is a beacon of resilience and generosity.

A love across borders: the roots of Gianella’s journey

Gianella’s journey began with a love that crossed continents. “I started my immigration journey by marrying my husband,” she recalls warmly. Their romance sparked during her U.S. visit, and blossomed through long-distance calls between Peru and America. Her husband’s first trip abroad to meet her family in Peru was a milestone, followed by her move to meet his parents. “He surprised me by asking me to marry him,” she shares, eyes alight. “That’s when we decided to move here and started the legal process.” Three years later, their son’s arrival—his initials “CC” adorning the company logo—ignited a new purpose. Balancing motherhood and financial needs, Gianella founded Crockford Proassist Group LLC. “I needed time to be with him and work to help financially,” she explains. Her business is more than a livelihood—it’s a legacy for her son’s future.

Paying it forward: a mission born from gratitude

Gianella’s drive springs from gratitude. “My main motivation was to pay back what was given to me,” she says, crediting Maritza, a local tax office owner, for offering her a job and guidance when she arrived with “the minimum.” Inspired by her Peruvian family’s entrepreneurial roots, Gianella now extends that support to others. “They helped me grow personally and professionally,” she reflects. Her mission is to empower New Jersey’s Latino community with knowledge and services, from immigration queries to guiding entrepreneurs through complex forms. “I want to help with good information,” she says, ensuring clients leave with clarity and confidence.

Easing the path: services that bridge dreams to reality

Crockford Proassist Group’s slogan, “Easing Your Everyday Tasks,” embodies Gianella’s commitment to simplifying daunting processes. Her certified translations in Spanish, English, and Portuguese deliver accurate, trusted documents for college applications, immigration, or legal needs. “Most documents we have are in Spanish,” she notes. “I help translate them exactly, with certifications institutions need.” Her document preparation and immigration consulting services build confidence, while her expertise in New Jersey incorporations, bookkeeping, and insurance audits guides small businesses through complexity. “Everything is connected,” she explains. “They might not know which insurance is mandated or that audits are coming.” Gianella turns dreams into reality by demystifying these steps.

Heart in service: the joy of making a difference

For Gianella, the reward is transformation. “The most meaningful experience is helping people,” she says. Whether listening to clients’ concerns for hours—free of charge—or providing clear solutions, she finds joy in their relief. “They say thank you and go home happy with the information,” she shares. Her services, from precise translations to meticulous bookkeeping, ensure security and support. “If they need a translation, it’s exactly what they need. If they need bookkeeping, their numbers are good,” she says. Her goal is growth: “If they grow, we grow together.”

Soaring higher: dreams for family and community

Gianella’s vision reaches beyond today. For her business, she dreams of hiring others and fostering a workplace where employees thrive, with flexible PTO and paid sick leave. “If you’re sick, take the time you need, and it’s paid,” she envisions. Personally, she seeks more time with her family, including her husband, who works long hours as a co-manager at 84 Lumber in Oakland. “I want to give them experiences—travel, quality time,” she says, hoping he’ll join her as a business partner. Her advice to immigrant entrepreneurs? “Find the right person to inform yourself about what you need,” she urges, highlighting taxes, audits, and insurance.
