NEW YORK, N.Y. — The 2026 Summer Fancy Food Show was held June 28–30, 2026, at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City, bringing together thousands of food professionals from around the world for one of the industry’s premier specialty food trade events.

Organized by the Specialty Food Association (SFA), this year’s exhibition transformed the Javits Center into a global marketplace for premium food, innovative products, and emerging culinary trends.

With more than 2,400 exhibitors representing over 50 countries, the show showcased an extraordinary range of specialty foods—from artisan cheeses and premium olive oils to gourmet snacks, functional beverages, plant-based innovations, and internationally inspired flavors. Buyers, distributors, retailers, chefs, importers, and media professionals explored thousands of new products while discovering the next generation of food brands.

A global showcase of premium foods

Unlike traditional food exhibitions that focus primarily on commodity products, the Summer Fancy Food Show emphasizes quality, craftsmanship, and innovation. National pavilions from Italy, Spain, France, Greece, Japan, South Korea, Turkey, Mexico, and many other countries highlighted the diversity of today’s global food industry.

Visitors sampled products that reflected both heritage and modern consumer preferences, including clean-label ingredients, organic offerings, sustainable production methods, and convenient foods designed for today’s health-conscious consumers.

Industry trends shaping the future

Several themes stood out across the exhibition floor in 2026:

  • High-protein snacks and better-for-you alternatives
  • Functional foods and beverages with added health benefits
  • Clean-label products made with simple, recognizable ingredients
  • Premium pantry staples such as olive oils, sauces, spices, and specialty grains
  • International flavors inspired by global culinary traditions
  • Sustainable sourcing and environmentally responsible packaging

These trends demonstrate how consumer demand continues to influence product development, encouraging manufacturers to combine nutrition, convenience, and exceptional taste.

More than a trade show

For exhibitors, the Summer Fancy Food Show offers far more than product exposure. It provides direct access to buyers from supermarkets, specialty retailers, distributors, restaurants, and hospitality groups, while also attracting investors, journalists, and marketing professionals seeking emerging brands.

Many companies use the event to launch new products, expand into the U.S. market, establish distribution partnerships, and strengthen relationships with existing customers. The concentration of decision-makers makes the show one of the most valuable networking opportunities in the specialty food industry.

Looking ahead

As consumer preferences continue to evolve, the Summer Fancy Food Show remains a leading platform for innovation and collaboration. From family-owned artisan producers to internationally recognized brands, the exhibition demonstrates the creativity and resilience of the global specialty food community.

For anyone involved in premium food, gourmet retail, foodservice, importing, or food media, the Summer Fancy Food Show continues to be one of the year’s most significant industry events—offering not only a glimpse into today’s marketplace but also a preview of the flavors and products that will shape tomorrow.
