U.S. President Donald Trump attended an event at the U.S. Naval Academy on Friday, March 20 presenting the “Commander-in-Chief’s Trophy” to the academy’s football team. The atmosphere was relaxed, with frequent interaction.

During the event, Trump addressed current U.S. military operations against Iran.

He said that although Iran possesses weapons from Russia and China, they are “useless” against the U.S. military.

“They’ve lost their navy, air force, air defenses, radar, and leadership,” Trump said. He emphasized: “There is no force in the world that can defeat the U.S. Navy or military. We are the strongest.”

Trump noted that military operations against Iran are “going extremely well” and praised U.S. Secretary of War Pete Hegseth and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Dan Caine.

According to the U.S. Central Command, the military has hit over 7,800 targets in Iran and destroyed more than 120 vessels. Hegseth stated that 11 Iranian submarines have also been destroyed.

Caine explained that early in the operation, the U.S. used cyber and space measures to disrupt and paralyze Iran’s communications and reconnaissance systems, blinding its air defenses and allowing U.S. and Israeli air forces to quickly gain air superiority. Operations have since expanded into eastern Iran.

Trump also said that sustained attacks have severely weakened Iran’s leadership.

“Their leaders are gone, the next batch is gone, most of the next batch is gone too,” he said.

He added that currently, “there is no one willing to be a leader,” and the U.S. “can’t even find anyone to talk to.”
