Mister Croissant Bakery & Café has expanded its Hudson Valley presence with the opening of its second location in Warwick, New York, bringing its handcrafted croissants, pastries, coffee, and community-focused atmosphere to a new neighborhood.

Located at 28 Railroad Ave., the café officially opened on June 27 and welcomed local residents, visitors, and community leaders, including representatives from the Village of Warwick and the Warwick Valley Chamber of Commerce. Founded by Rakesh Nayak, Mister Croissant first opened in Middletown two years ago and continues to grow while staying connected to the community.

A new chapter of growth in Warwick

“We, as Mister Croissant, and as a company, we always want to grow, and we are always planning to grow,” Nayak said. “I think there was no better place than Warwick, because it’s a community, huge community, kind of a city. People are helping each other, they’re working together.”

Before choosing Warwick, Nayak explored different areas throughout the Hudson Valley, including Newburgh, Beacon, and Wappingers. Ultimately, he said Warwick felt like the right place.

“I always go with my gut feeling, where my heart says,” he shared. “My heart was calling for Warwick. Even when I had the opportunity in other places, I chose Warwick because my heart said Warwick is the place.”

Bringing the same fresh experience to customers

The Warwick location will offer the same menu and experience customers have enjoyed at the Middletown café, with freshly made croissants, pastries, coffee, and other products prepared on site.

“It will be exactly similar,” Nayak explained. “We are going to bake out all our croissants here, we are going to have all fresh products made here and have the same experience that we had in Middletown. Completely the same product, everything is freshly made here.”

As the business continues to expand, Nayak said finding skilled employees is one of the challenges.

“Definitely we need to get more skilled people, the labor, that’s the challenge we are going through,” he said. “But other than that, I think it’s just the growth. It’s called growing pain, but it is good.”

For Nayak, the expansion is not only about business—it is about creating a place where people feel connected.

“I want to be a small business. I want to be a business where it is very related to community,” he said. “I’m not trying to go to New York City or big cities, because our root and our culture wants to connect with the city.”

Warwick welcomes a new local business

Mary Collura, Trustee of the Village of Warwick, attended the opening representing the Mayor’s office and the Warwick Valley Chamber of Commerce. She said the community is excited to welcome Mister Croissant.

“We are super excited to have them,” Collura said. “We know that they are a beloved part of the community. They have a lot of followers, they have a lot of fans. The village has needed some sort of bakery or some sort of spot like that. We haven’t had anything like that in a long time.”

Collura said the café adds another gathering place to Warwick’s downtown area, especially with concerts, festivals, and community events nearby.

“It’s nice to have another restaurant option to offer beverages and food items,” she said.

She also encouraged other small businesses to consider Warwick.

“We welcome it. We support you. It’s a great place to work and have a business. It’s a great community,” Collura said.

A place for new flavors and community connections

Local visitors shared their excitement about the new café and what it brings to Warwick.

One visitor said Mister Croissant fills a need in the area. “I think it’s very good for the area. I think it’s what’s needed. We don’t have patisseries here, and Orange County is booming.”

She added that Mister Croissant brings “diversity and a bit of class” to the community, praising the bakery’s French-inspired pastries and fresh flavors.

Young visitors who followed Mister Croissant on social media were also excited about the new location.

“I love it so much,” one young customer said. Another shared, “We don’t have to drive for like 30 minutes, it’s just right here.”

Popular favorites among customers include pistachio croissants, chocolate chip cookies, mango pastries, and croissant sandwiches.

For Nayak, the goal remains simple: create quality products while building meaningful relationships.

“This kind of business is not more like a commercial bakery, but very neighborhood bakery style,” he said. “We want to be centered with the community.”

With its second location now open, Mister Croissant continues bringing fresh pastries, coffee, and community connection to the Hudson Valley.
