The Tuidang movement, started in November 2004, encourages Chinese around the world to renounce their oaths made to lay down their lives for communism when they joined the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) or its affiliated youth organizations. Over the past two decades, hundreds of millions of people have given their assumed or real names to voice their separation from the CCP, the single most deadly regime in human history.
At the forefront of urging Chinese to take part in the Tuidang movement are adherents of Falun Gong, a traditional spiritual discipline that the CCP banned in 1999 and has severely persecuted since. Here, Vision Times presents some recent statements from those who have quit the Party, translated from the Chinese.
Quitting the Party, League, and Pioneers (Dec. 23, 2024)
The Communist Party is characterized by deceit, malice, and violence. It dons an angel’s garb to do the work of the devil. I withdraw from this evil organization of my own volition!
— “Spring Grass” (春草)
‘The Communist Party’s rule is an unmitigated disaster for Chinese society’ (Dec. 23, 2024)
I come from an intellectual family and have been influenced by them since young. I’ve read quite a few of our country’s classic literary works and visit the temple to offer incense during festivals every year. At work and in society over these years, I personally witnessed the evil deeds of the Communist Party, such as collusion between officials and businessmen, fake goods, poisonous food products, forced demolition and expropriation of property. I think the Communist Party’s rule is an unmitigated disaster for Chinese society and the root of its moral collapse. I declare my withdrawal from the League and Pioneer organizations.
I respect the efforts by Falun Gong practitioners to defend their civil rights. I hope that one day in the future, adherents of that faith will [again] have the freedom to meditate in public parks and squares.

A Chinese veteran retracts the ‘venomous oath’ made to serve the CCP (Dec. 22, 2024)
In grade school I wore the red scarf [of the Young Pioneers], but didn’t swear an oath to the Party. Later, however, when I joined the army we were made to collectively swear a venomous oath of loyalty to the evil Communist Party (this was not actually joining the Party). Today I declare my withdrawal from all the evil Party’s organizations and retract the venomous oath I made; I sever my ties [with the CCP] to embrace a wonderful future.

Quitting the CCP in Shanghai (Dec. 22, 2024)
Before, in my ignorance I joined the Young Pioneers, Communist Youth League, and the Party itself. Now I understand that the sins of this Party will bring about great punishment from Heaven, so I willingly withdraw from all the evil Party’s organizations to secure peace and protection.

‘I witnessed how the CCP’s cover-up of the outbreak led to the virus spreading across China’: A Beijing resident quits the Young Pioneers (Dec. 20, 2024)
As someone born in the 1970s, I have experienced both the SARS outbreak and the novel coronavirus pandemic. During SARS, I witnessed how the CCP’s cover-up of the outbreak led to the virus spreading across China, and unfortunately, hundreds and thousands of foreigners were also infected. When summer came and the virus naturally disappeared due to rising temperatures, the CCP shamelessly sang praises of its “effective leadership.” However, at that time, the regime was not yet as shameless as it is today. They didn’t stop journalists from reporting on the frontline, didn’t seal off neighborhoods and homes, leaving people without supplies or medical care and forcing them to await death, and didn’t direct the Foreign Ministry to smear the United States by claiming the virus was manufactured at Fort Detrick. Yet, nearly 20 years later, all these things repeated themselves!
This all demonstrates how the CCP becomes more evil with each passing year. Now, it used the CCP virus [i.e. COVID-19] to kill countless Chinese, and another decade from now, it could repeat the brutal crackdowns and the Cultural Revolution, massacring even more citizens. Eliminating the CCP, this Nazi-like evil party, is an imperative of our time!
As for the Young Pioneers, I never wanted to join in the first place. Like my entire class, I was coerced by our homeroom teacher into writing the application to join the organization. Back then, we were too young to understand anything and simply believed whatever the teacher said. I have never believed in communism, let alone Marx or Lenin. Therefore, I now formally declare my withdrawal from the Young Pioneers, determined to be a Chinese citizen cleansed of the CCP’s enslavement.

A Liaoning resident realizes the extent of the CCP’s brainwashing (Dec. 19, 2024)
The crazed indoctrination and brainwashed I received as a child contrasts so greatly with the realities I gradually took in as I grew up that it has completely changed my worldview. I sincerely hope that the land I grew up in and deeply love, along with the generations of people living on it, can one day enjoy true freedom, democracy, and the rule of law.
I hereby declare my withdrawal from the League and Pioneers I was once compelled to join.
— Roy, Liaoning Province
‘Now we’re aware of the CCP’s inhuman tyranny and fabricated history’ (Dec. 18, 2024)
We were brainwashed by the Communist Party when we were students, but now we’re aware of the CCP’s inhuman tyranny and completely fabricated history. We’ve seen its true face and resolutely withdraw from the CCP’s League and Pioneer organizations.

A young resident of Yunnan quits the CCP’s Youth League after experiencing the ‘iron fist’ of communism under lockdown (Dec. 17, 2024)
Growing up, all my education was dominated by the CCP’s authoritarian brainwashing, and I ended up as a “little pink” [enthusiastically pro-CCP]. During my middle school years, I was coerced into joining the Communist Youth League, not knowing any better.
My parents often told me about the experiences of my elders, who suffered under the Communist Party. But at the time, I was so deeply indoctrinated by communism that I considered them reactionaries. It wasn’t until the three-year “zero-COVID” lockdown, during which I was confined to school and subjected to fascist, authoritarian management by the school Party secretary, that I began to question my beliefs after experiencing the “iron fist” of communism firsthand.
Fortunately, during this time, I met a Falun Gong practitioner who told me the true history of the CCP. I realized that the stories my elders told were true and correct.
The CCP’s rise to power was illegitimate, born under the influence of the satanic ideology of Marx and Lenin. Mao Zedong, mentored by another demonic leader, Stalin, set up a tyranny and deceived the Chinese people, seizing power and murdering countless people. My grandparents’ generation suffered deeply. Jiang Zemin persecuted Falun Gong practitioners, indulged in corruption, and unleashed lawless tyranny. Xi Jinping restricts freedom and is trying to replicate Mao’s Cultural Revolution.
Every true Chinese citizen should oppose the CCP, the country’s largest traitorous organization, and support democracy and freedom. I hence declare my withdrawal from the Chinese Communist Youth League, erasing its devil’s mark from my soul.
For the democracy and freedom of the Chinese people, let’s bring an end to the CCP’s authoritarian rule!

Quitting the Young Pioneers after accessing the outside internet (Dec. 17, 2024)
After bypassing the Great Firewall to access the outside internet, I have seen the CCP’s ugly face for what it truly is. The CCP’s actions have brought endless pain and disaster to the Chinese people. Therefore, I voluntarily sever all ties with the CCP. Let’s disband this evil CCP as soon as possible and restore peace and prosperity to the people.
— Wang Xiaoming (王小明), mainland China

Statement to Quit the CCP and Its Other Organizations (Dec. 16, 2024)
Even cotton and cotton cloth can be faked, and our food is full of safety hazards. There’s nothing for the common people to do except to wait for Heaven above to clean out the CCP!
I declare my withdrawal from the Party, League, and Pioneers.
— Li Ruyi (李如意), Harbin
Pro-democracy Chinese quit the CCP (Dec. 16, 2024)
We participated in the 1989 pro-democracy movement. At a hospital, we saw the corpses of dozens of students who had been killed [by the CCP]. We were heartbroken and enraged. Over the years, democracy activists like us have continued the struggle for freedom, enduring oppression, surveillance, and persecution. Many of us have had to leave our homes and live in exile.
We have always despised the evil CCP and have urged my family to stay away from it. Today, we have resolved to erase the evil mark it left on us and declare our “three withdrawals” to ensure peace and safety. I hope for the safety of our family and fellow citizens. May a China free from the evil Communist Party come soon! Thank you all!
— Ah Bin (阿彬) and Liao He (廖和) of Sichuan Province quit the Youth League and Young Pioneers
‘After reading The Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party, I have come to understand the CCP’s history’: A Xi’an resident takes part in Tuidang (Dec. 16, 2024)
I, You Haonan, after thorough reflection, solemnly declare my withdrawal from the Chinese Communist Party, Communist Youth League, and Young Pioneers.
Throughout the years, I have witnessed and experienced firsthand the CCP’s actions. After reading The Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party, I have come to understand the CCP’s history as one filled with lies, violence, and oppression. Its ideology is fundamentally against humanity and universal values.
I refuse to associate with such an organization. Therefore, I choose to withdraw from the CCP and its affiliated organizations, erasing my past oaths and severing ties with the CCP entirely.
— You Haonian (由灏楠), Xi’an, Shaanxi Province
An overseas Chinese quits the League and Pioneers (Dec. 15, 2024)
I had always known the evils of the CCP, but thought that being clear this in my heart was enough. Now I understand the importance of stating my withdrawal from the Party, so today I solemnly announce that I withdraw from the League, Pioneers, and any other CCP organizations, and choose a bright future for myself.
— Yang Song (杨松), the United States
‘I hope for its speedy removal by heaven above’: Quitting the Party, League, and Pioneers (Dec. 14, 2024)
My reason for taking part in Tuidang: the Communist Party is a vampire on the people and commits every possible evil. It’s irredeemable and I hope for its speedy removal by heaven above. Let the CCP be cast away without a trace.
— Lixiang (立翔)
Four residents of Guangzhou form a pact to quit the CCP (Dec. 13, 2024)
The four of us have all suffered the CCP’s repression. The long years of exploitation and abuse have left us struggling to breathe!
We have come together because we share a common vision. Here in Guangzhou, we formed a pact of solidarity, announcing our withdrawal from the CCP and its affiliated organizations. We vow to fight for a future free of this oppressive regime.
As long as we live, our resistance will not cease! One day, we will welcome the dawn that belongs to us!

Sichuan residents take part in the Tuidang movement (Dec. 13, 2024)
We have only now come to realize that all this time, the various kinds of hardships [we have been suffering] are all brought about by this corrupt and evil party. It is bent on our destruction. We want to leave the demonic Communist Youth League and Young Pioneers that we had been deceived and cajoled into joining. Thank you!

A Chongqing resident quits the CCP (Dec. 13, 2024)
I declare my withdrawal from the CCP, its Youth League, and the Young Pioneers. Having understood the truth, I refuse to associate with this rogue organization. Let us disband the CCP, this murderous, treacherous, and deceitful organization that opposes heaven, earth, and humanity!
— Zhang Xuehua (张学华), Chongqing, China
‘Whoever governs China in the future must restore morality and faith’: A laborer quits the League and Pioneers (Dec. 12, 2024)
I’m a laborer, often bullied by my boss and coworkers. I don’t believe in the Communist Party, nor do I have any love for it. I believe in Buddhism and in karma.
I have one dream: for the CCP to collapse and for the restoration of China’s traditional culture and religious faith. The Communist Party’s atheistic indoctrination have caused widespread moral decay. In the future, whoever governs the country must restore morality and faith so that good people are rewarded, and bad people face justice.
Here, I declare my withdrawal from the Communist Youth League and Young Pioneers.

Quitting the League and Pioneers (Dec. 11, 2024)
I know that Falun Dafa is good, and believe in divine salvation. I am even more aware that the Communist Party is a criminal group of scoundrels; I take part in the Tuidang movement to secure peace and blessing!

Six people quit the CCP’s youth organizations (Dec. 10, 2024)
After understanding the truth, we are deeply convinced and feel fortunate to have the opportunity for divine protection in these chaotic times. Here, we solemnly declare my withdrawal from the Chinese Communist Party’s Communist Youth League and Young Pioneers organizations. We choose to stay away from evil and live with a clear conscience.

Quitting the Youth League (Dec. 9, 2024)
For many years, I was deceived by the evil Party, thinking the CCP and its subordinate organizations were good. Now, I know the true face of the evil Party and its shamelessness. Having understood the truth about Falun Gong, I voluntarily withdraw from the Communist Youth League, hoping for a better future!
— Li Zhongyang (李忠洋)

‘The Communist Party truly ought to collapse’ (Dec. 7, 2024)
My family lineage includes mid-level peasants, and my great-grandfather was an educated man who attended private school. In our rural hometown, most villagers traditionally followed Daoism and were simple and kind. After the Communist Party came to our village to implement “land reform,” they confiscated our mere 20 acres of land. Although we were spared the ordeal of being labeled “landlords,” we were left with nothing.
I dislike the Communist Party. My experience with its members over the years has shown me that few are genuinely good. Our family has always relied on farming and small businesses. The elders in my family often said that people in the past had better morals, unlike the deceitful and harmful practices that businesspeople use now. From the perspective of heavenly principles, the Communist Party truly ought to collapse.
— Hao Yuan (浩远) of China quits the League and Pioneers
‘The CCP elite only knows how to exploit the populace’ (Dec. 7, 2024)
I am a businessman. Currently, China’s economy is extremely sluggish, and there are few clients willing to spend. Life has become unsustainable for the people. The CCP elite only know how to exploit the populace, committing countless evil deeds — in particular organ harvesting, an atrocity that enrages both heaven and earth. Therefore, I voluntarily withdraw from the Communist Youth League and Young Pioneers, and refuse to align with evil or share in its downfall. May the gods and Buddhas bring peace and protection!
— Su Xing (苏醒), mainland China
Quitting the Young Pioneers (Dec. 6, 2024)
The families of officials are far too well-off. Give it another 30 years, and China will be utterly ruined at the hands of the Communist Party.
— Li Jixiang (李吉祥), Harbin
‘Only by dismantling the CCP can taxpayers’ money truly serve the people’ (Dec. 5, 2024)
I’ve always wondered: China’s tax revenue ranks among the highest in the world, yet with so much tax paid by the people, why are so many public welfare projects still not established? Why does China still lack free healthcare and housing? Why do so many farmers receive a meager pension of just over 100 yuan? The CCP’s explanation is that China is still in the “primary stage of socialism” and has too large a population. Meanwhile, it criticizes free healthcare in foreign countries as inefficient or unreliable and mocks their slow pace of infrastructure construction.
I used to believe these lies. After bypassing the Great Firewall to learn the truth, I realized that all the money had been embezzled by the CCP and the pack of vermin following it! For instance, a former chairman of China National Petroleum Corporation embezzled 900 billion yuan. If one person can take that much, how much have the top leaders taken? Trillions, at least. With such funds, even if China’s population were double what it is now, free healthcare would still be feasible. Regrettably, the CCP is the most evil organization; since its inception, it has never stopped sucking the blood of the people. Only by dismantling the CCP and establishing a democratic system can taxpayers’ money truly serve the people.
I declare my withdrawal from the Young Pioneers.
— Wu Enhua (吴恩华), Zhengzhou
‘I choose to quit the CCP and pursue my ideals as an independent citizen’ (Dec. 4, 2024)
I am Kang Tian, a graduate of Wuhan University of Technology. Harboing the original aspiration of serving the people and promoting social progress, I joined the Chinese Communist Party, hoping to contribute to social justice and national development. However, over time, I realized that the Party’s current state and direction are completely contrary to my original ideals.
In recent years, under Xi Jinping’s autocratic rule, power has become overly centralized, and freedom of speech severely suppressed. Any dissenting voices are silenced or eradicated, leaving the people without the right to express their opinions. As someone who values freedom and human rights, I cannot accept this situation or continue being a part of this system.
Furthermore, corruption is rampant within the Party. High-ranking leaders exploit anti-corruption campaigns for political infighting, while grassroots corruption flourishes, oppressing ordinary people. This starkly contradicts the principle of “serving the people.”
On the Taiwan [independence] issue, I believe peace and dialogue are the only ways to resolve differences. Yet, the current policies are aggressive and provocative, further dividing people on both sides of the strait and threatening regional peace. Reflecting on China’s modern history, the Tiananmen Square massacre of 1989 remains a haunting reminder of the regime’s brutal suppression of freedom and human rights.
As an independent thinker, I refuse to endorse such a system. I believe in the values of freedom, democracy, and human rights, which are utterly incompatible with the current regime. Therefore, I choose to withdraw from the CCP and pursue my ideals as an independent citizen.
— Kang Tian (康天), Hunan Province
Quitting the League and Pioneers (Dec. 4, 2024)
After the annual college entrance exams, many people go abroad to study, and many others take the risk of traveling to countries like the United States for work. This reflects how difficult it is to make a living in China. Ordinary citizens may not understand grand political theories, but they vote with their feet, moving to places where life is better.
I lament how the Communist Party has thrown the country into a mess, leading to moral decay and economic decline. I don’t care for the Party at all. Whoever can govern the country well deserves the people’s tax contributions. Here, I declare my withdrawal from the Communist Youth League and Young Pioneers.
— “Shade Under a Green Tree” (绿树成荫), mainland China
I declare my withdrawal from the CCP and Youth League (Dec. 4, 2024)
I recognize that the Chinese Communist Party is an atheistic, evil organization that suppresses and forbids belief in deities, gods, and Buddhas. Under this regime, people have lost moral values, and society has become increasingly uncivilized. I firmly believe that in the near future, the heavens will destroy the CCP. Therefore, I hereby declare my withdrawal from all affiliations with the Communist Party.
— Yang Jiaxu (杨家叙), Yulin, Guangxi Province
Quitting the CCP under lockdown (Dec. 2, 2024)
During the three years of pandemic lockdowns, I stayed home and kept myself from going idle by reading books and studying foreign languages. Thankfully, I didn’t let my mind stagnate. Being someone who is fond of learning, I disdain the Communist Party’s brainwashing methods. I declare my withdrawal from the evil Party’s organizations and resolve to be a free thinker who values independent thought.
— Dashan (大山), China
‘The Communist Party is completely hypocritical’ (Dec. 1, 2024)
After witnessing the CCP’s heinous crimes, I have decided not to align myself with such an evil regime. The Communist Party is completely hypocritical — claiming one thing and doing another. It promised workers and peasants would be in charge, yet the elites hold all the power. It promised democracy but practices authoritarian rule. It claimed to allow freedom of speech but enforces censorship. It pledged to allow trade unions but exploits workers. It proclaimed the rule of law but behaves like gangsters. It spoke of ethnic autonomy but perpetrates ethnic cleansing. It preached discipline and integrity but is corrupt and degenerate. It advocated freedom of religion but destroys faith in the divine.
I declare my withdrawal from the Young Pioneers and the Communist Youth League. I sever all ties with this demonic organization and distance myself from its evil.
— Liu Yifan (刘一帆), Shanxi Province, China
Quitting the Communist Youth League and Young Pioneers (Dec. 1, 2024)
Having followed media like The Epoch Times and New Tang Dynasty Television for years, I’ve come to many realizations. All traditional cultures worldwide originate from the divine. For example, holidays in Western nations, such as Christmas and Easter, stem from Christianity; Islamic holidays like Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha come from Islam; Thailand’s traditional celebrations are tied to Buddhism; and Chinese festivals like Lunar New Year and Chongyang originate from Daoism.
Master Li’s [the founder of Falun Gong] article, “How Humankind Came to Be” provides profound insights into the origins of humanity’s various cultures. It’s an enlightening read, waking people to the truth in this mysterious world.
I greatly respect Falun Gong practitioners, enjoy reading their books, and frequently watch New Tang Dynasty Television. I sincerely wish Falun Gong practitioners freedom from persecution by the Communist regime and the realization of true religious freedom.
Since middle school, I have disliked the Communist Party. I now declare my withdrawal from the expired memberships of the Young Pioneers and the Communist Youth League.
— Jing Hong (景宏), China
