On Monday, Nov. 3, in Flushing, Andrew Cuomo, and a group of his supporters, rallied ahead of election day, expressing concern that a Zohran Mamdani administration could bring socialism and communism to the city.
In attendance was Martha Flores-Vazquez, a Democratic district leader in Queens County, who serves the 40th Assembly District.
She told Vision Times, “I’ve been a District Leader for 25 years. I’ve represented the Asian community and I’m saying to everyone that we are in trouble. We are in a crisis. And, our solution to this problem is to vote for Andrew Cuomo for mayor.”
“It is important to understand that Mamdani is a socialist/communist and that many people fled their country from fear of that… if we put him in place, it’ll be like being back home, the place that you ran away from. So please, from the bottom of my heart, I urge you to save New York City,” Flores-Vazquez pleaded.
“I urge your readers to come out and vote if they are registered, and if they’re not, to get out the word and tell people that this is an emergency, this is a crisis. We don’t want a socialist government, and we need to fight back,” she added.

Another rally attendee, who identified himself as ‘Mark,’ urged Sliwa supporters to back Cuomo, calling him the city’s best chance to prevent a Mamdani administration.
“I have known Andrew Cuomo for 35 years. He’s the right man for the job, at the right time,” Mark said, adding, “People who are thinking about voting for Sliwa should not vote for Sliwa because it would be a waste of a vote.”
“Do not play with your freedom. Do not play with your liberty,” he warned.

‘People have to think twice’
Another Cuomo supporter, Wilbert Rodriguez, told Vision Times, “People have to think twice before they select. The problem is, Mamdani — he has very good charm; he smiles, whatever — but he’s a wolf in sheep’s clothing.”
Zohran Mamdani has proposed a range of progressive policies, including free day care, free public transit, and rent freezes to ease the cost of living for New Yorkers. To fund these programs, he plans to raise taxes on high-income earners and large corporations, arguing that increased revenue from the city’s wealthiest can support services for everyone else.
“We’ve been shown that if we want something, we have to work for it. We have to work for it to obtain it. Nothing comes for free. The only thing free is the love from your parents,” Rodriguez added.
Cuomo’s youngest daughter was also at the rally and told the crowd, “What I can tell you is that this man cares about New York, he cares about each of you. He is going to make the differences that you need in your life. Tomorrow is election day — vote for Cuomo!”
Another Cuomo supporter, Yating Zhu, told Vision Times that she is voting for Cuomo because “he is the strongest candidate for our public safety and for our children’s education. Cuomo is for opportunities. Cuomo is going to give us more opportunities for small business, for young people to have jobs, and for our city to be thriving again.”
