An undercover investigation has revealed shocking new evidence that Chinese hospitals continue to use organs forcibly harvested from living Falun Gong practitioners — a practice the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has long denied but which investigators say has never stopped.
According to a report by the World Organization to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong (WOIPFG), investigators called transplant departments at 12 hospitals in major Chinese cities including Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin, Hangzhou, and Guangzhou.
When asked whether the organs came from Falun Gong practitioners, 11 individuals from 9 hospitals confirmed — some without hesitation — replying with phrases like:
- “Yes, yes,”
- “That’s right,”
- “Of course,”
- “No problem.”
Crimes beyond belief
The WOIPFG report, released on May 8, 2019, details phone calls made between Oct. 19 and Dec. 2, 2018, during which investigators posed as officials from a provincial “stability maintenance office” arranging organ transplants for a relative.

Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, is an ancient spiritual discipline rooted in the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance. Despite being peaceful in nature, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) launched a brutal persecution campaign targeting the faith in 1999. The persecution has continued unabated for over two decades now.

The calls targeted hospital presidents, department heads, and surgeons suspected of participating in live organ harvesting. A total of 17 recorded conversations were collected as evidence. Some of the investigations were conducted live in New Tang Dynasty Television’s (NTDTV) studio, where political commentators and eyewitnesses monitored the calls in real time. The findings were chilling:
“The crime of live organ harvesting from Falun Gong practitioners has never stopped,” the report states. “China still maintains a living organ donor bank.” The report further concludes that the CCP’s public claims about a “black market in organs” are merely a smokescreen to conceal state-run harvesting operations.
Hospitals confirm use of Falun Gong practitioners’ organs
When asked directly, “Are you still using organs from Falun Gong practitioners?” 11 respondents confirmed affirmatively, seemingly without any hesitation or remorse.

While others answered vaguely or tried to change the subject, none denied it outright. The 17 recordings involve 12 hospitals across Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai, Yantai, Zhengzhou, Hangzhou, Changsha, Nanjing, Guangzhou, and Guilin.
In recorded calls, doctors themselves could be heard admitting to the crimes, including at the Armed Police General Hospital in Beijing. On Nov. 2, 2018, deputy director Wang Jianli of the hospital’s Transplant Research Institute was asked:
“You’re using organs from healthy Falun Gong practitioners, correct?”
Wang: “Yes, yes, yes.”
When asked if the organs were removed and transplanted simultaneously, he again confirmed: “Yes.” He added that a liver transplant costs around 200,000 to 300,000 yuan.
At Beijing Chaoyang Hospital, on Nov. 6, 2018, the hospital’s liver transplant chief Lang Ren was asked:
“The donors are Falun Gong practitioners — healthy, normal donors, right?”
Lang answered: “Yes, yes, that’s right, you’re correct.”
At Zhengzhou People’s Hospital, department head Miao Shuzhai confirmed that same day:
“Yes, yes, yes.”
Another doctor, Qu Qingshan, responded similarly when asked whether their current donors were Falun Gong practitioners:
“Ah, yes — all normal ones.”
Public records show Qu Qingshan holds multiple prestigious titles within China’s transplant community — including committee member of the Chinese Medical Association’s Organ Transplantation Society, and vice chairman of Henan Province’s Transplant Committee, indicating that the practice implicates senior figures at the national level.

A survivor’s testimony: ‘they cut me open while I was awake’
WOIPFG’s Sept. 9, 2024 report also documented the testimony of Cheng Peiming, a Falun Gong practitioner who survived an attempted organ harvesting.

Cheng, once imprisoned in Heilongjiang Province’s Daqing Prison, was repeatedly tortured after being sentenced to eight years in 2001 for his faith in Falun Gong. On Nov. 19, 2004, he was subjected to a forced surgery at the prison hospital that left a 35-centimeter incision across his chest. Later examinations confirmed that portions of his liver and left lung had been removed.
When the CCP attempted to operate on him again in March 2006, Cheng managed to escape from the hospital. The Public Security Ministry issued a national arrest warrant, offering a bounty for his capture. Cheng fled China in 2015, eventually reaching the U.S. via Thailand in 2020.
After multiple medical scans including CT, ultrasound, and X-rays, doctors confirmed that half of his left lung and segments of his liver were missing.
Official CCP documents confirm the surgery
WOIPFG noted that a July 22, 2024 article on the Tianjin Public Security Bureau’s official “610 Office” website effectively confirmed key facts of Cheng’s case: It identified Cheng as a Falun Gong practitioner imprisoned for his belief in “Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance.”
It also acknowledged he underwent major thoracic surgery at Daqing City Fourth Hospital in 2004, under guard escort. These details, including the timing, location, and nature of the operation, corroborate Cheng’s account and serve as official proof that his organs were removed while he was imprisoned.
WOIPFG’s March 2, 2023 investigation of Guiyang Medical College Affiliated Hospital exposed an even more chilling reality — patients could choose organs as if selecting products.
Organs sold like items at a grocery store
When asked about transplant wait times, a staff member surnamed Fu from the hospital’s liver transplant office said: “If there’s a donor, it can be one to two days, or one to two months.”

When asked about donor ages, he replied: “All kinds — from teens to people in their fifties.”
When the investigator inquired whether the organs were removed and transplanted at the same hospital, Fu answered: “Yes, all done here, synchronously.”
When asked about finding “a better organ,” Fu said: “He can choose it himself. Have him come find us.”
He added that the hospital offered “cheaper transplants,” with full procedures costing around 400,000 yuan ($55,000 USD), and even named Zou Weilong from Beijing’s Armed Police Hospital as one of their transplant doctors.
A nationwide atrocity
WOIPFG Chairman Dr. Wang Zhiyuan stated in May 2025 that the CCP has mobilized the entire state apparatus, including the Party, military, police, judicial, and medical systems, to carry out mass organ harvesting of Falun Gong practitioners under the guise of normal transplant operations.
“This is a genocidal atrocity that has lasted 26 years,” Dr. Wang said, calling it “a crime unprecedented on this planet.” He warned that the crime has now spread beyond Falun Gong practitioners, threatening “every ordinary Chinese citizen.”
“The machinery of death built for persecution,” he added, “now devours its own society.”
The latest recordings and documentation dismantle Beijing’s long-standing narrative that “all organs come from voluntary donors.” From surgeons’ own admissions to official CCP websites inadvertently confirming surgeries, the evidence paints a stark picture: China’s live organ harvesting program is ongoing — systematic, state-protected, and concealed behind bureaucracy and complicity.
