Ahhh, the Great Wall. You epic icon of a nation you. So, Wall, are you worth the visit?
Faced with throngs of tourists, and newly rebuilt parts that are just so…new, and unpassable gaps… Well, despite all that, photos like these tell us yes, the Great Wall of China is indeed great.
The Great Wall, (Chángchéng,长城) was built to ward off the invasion of Saibei nomads. Construction was started around 7th century BC, and it stretches for over 10,000 kilometers from east to west.
As the Translation Chinese blog tells us: “There is a famous saying: (不到长城非好汉) ‘You are not a man if you haven’t climbed the Great Wall.'”
