If you enjoyed our story on Wuhan jaywalkers doing penance as traffic wardens, then you’ll like this one about China’s narrowest zebra crossing in Taiyuan, Shanxi Province.

The walkway is located on East Bridge Street where it meets Bin Zhou Road. It’s only 5 feet wide, which is just enough room for two people to cross side by side.

According to local regulations, a zebra crossing should be at least 10 feet wide. Reportedly this one is so narrow because the guy in charge wanted to make a profit, so he used cheap labor to do it. I guess he saved plenty on paint too!
