I Want to Cheer So Hard for This Pelican! GoPro Camera on Beak Films Sublime Flying Footage

You just can’t help but be pleased for the orphaned pelican on his first flight after re-learning to fly. The music is perfect too! Falling into rhythm with its flapping wings.

“Abandoned by his flock, Bigbird the pelican stumbled ashore after a storm and was taken in by the staff of Greystoke Mahale in Tanzania,” they explain on Youtube. The guy showing it how to flap its wings has a New Zealand accent (those kiwis show up everywhere!).

Those worried about the poor wee pelican, don’t be. They can carry 10 pounds of water in their beaks and still fly. The GoPro3+ is light weight, less than a pound. Apparently pelicans have prey-like eyes, so its eyes see to the side rather than straight forward, so the GoPro camera probably didn’t obscure its vision.

Besides, this short film can make millions develop deeper feels for birds, and that is worth it.
